Fintech Ireland is delighted to spread the word about this excellent event organised by Global Government Fintech, the Department of Finance and Ireland for Finance.

A big thank you to the team for including our Peter Oakes on the panel discussing "How can financial authorities capitalise on data to improve what they do?", together with Mari-Liis Kukk
Head, Innovation Department, Estonian Financial Supervision and Resolution Authority (Finantsinspektsioon), Estonia and Gavin Curran, Head, Markets Supervision Division, Central Bank of Ireland.  The Panel will be moderated by Siobhan Benita, Event Moderator, Global Government Fintech

Public sector authorities are increasingly interested in the possibilities enabled by growing quantities of financial data, including unstructured data. Machine learning (ML)/artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics are some of the techniques being deployed.

Questions include:

What are the biggest financial data-related possibilities and challenges for public authorities?
What outcomes have organisations already achieved?
How can internal skills and mindset obstacles be overcome?

The Global Government Fintech Lab 2023 is bringing the world of global government fintech together to share expertise and experience in how governments worldwide are exploring fintech. The first such event was held in 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia.

There is a fantastic line up of speakers including a keynote by Dr Jennifer Carroll MacNeill
Minister of State, Responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance, Department of Finance.

See the full speaker line-up here.

The Global Government Fintech Lab 2023 – to be held in Dublin, Ireland on Thursday 18 May – will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, topic-specific sessions and more including:
  • How best should financial authorities, including government departments, agencies and regulators, explore fintech solutions?
  • How can financial authorities capitalise on data to improve what they do?
  • Where are the frontiers of public sector fintech?

The Lab will tackle these questions – and many more – in a day packed with international experience-sharing and networking.
